George Floyd – Breonna Taylor – Ahmaud Arbery – Three names that are a part of a global conversation connecting us to the state of our society. Religious leaders, CEO’s, educators and athletic administrators are all answering the question, “What do we do now?” Typically, race and culture aren’t board room, classroom, or war room conversations but NOW they are a must! As the only black head coach at the University of Georgia, I have been propelled to the spotlight when speaking on race and culture within college athletics. There are disparaging numbers that represent the race of student athletes in comparison to the race of administrators and coaches. We have to move forward with truth and understanding. The only way to navigate race and culture is open, honest conversations that must bring truth to light.
